Fukuoka Buses: Board at the Back, Exit at the Front

The boarding and exit doors are the opposite of Korea. With cash, take a numbered ticket (seiriken) when you board and pay the fare along with it when you get off. With an IC card, tap both when boarding and when exiting.

Press the bell when your stop is near. The bus will not stop if you don't press it
IC card
Suica, PASMO, ICOCA, nimoca and others work; tap both when boarding and when exiting

Fares and change-machine rules vary by route and season. Follow the instructions on the bus first.

How to do it

  1. Board at the back door. If paying cash, take one numbered ticket.
  2. Check the current stop and fare on the monitor at the front.
  3. When your stop is near, press the bell and exit by the front door. Tap your IC card or pay the fare as you get off.
